During Manchester United's 2-2 draw against Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-final first leg, Raphael Varane was forced into the dressing room ahead of time after suffering a nasty ankle injury.
According to 'The Daily Mirror', the injury is in fact more serious than first thought, and the ex-France international could be out for the rest of the season.
As other English media also reported, the French centre-back underwent some scans on his ankle and, accoridng to the side's doctors, he shouldn't play for the next six weeks. The Red Devils' last league game is planned for the 28th May, when they go up against Fulham.
Erik ten Hag will therefore have to go into that one without his defender. This bit of news is a really hard blow for the Mancunians because they still need to qualify for next season's Champions League, as well as the FA Cup final. United go up against Brighton at Wembley, and the winner will be greeted by City in the final.
