VAR confirmed for the Nations League finals

UEFA have reiterated have reiterated this Monday that the VAR will be available for the Nations League final four in Portugal. The decision was taken back in December and Portugal, Holland, England and Switzerland will take back.

The semi-finals, third place play-off and final of the Nations League will take place later this week and the VAR will be in place to correct major refereeing errors. The decision was made in December when UEFA announced that there would be VAR in the recently concluded Champions League season from the last 16 onwards, but UEFA have reiterated that decision this Monday.

"After the successful testing of the technology and training of the referee, the VAR has been used in the knockout phase of the Champions League plus the Europa League final. The same technology will be in place for the first ever Nations League finals," said UEFA in a statement.

UEFA also organised an information day in which the coaches of the four participating teams received information about the VAR.

Holland, Portugal, Switzerland and England have also made comments in favour of this video technology.
