UEFA plan to give two Champions League spots via coefficient rather than on merit

UEFA are preparing to make changes to the Champions League ahead of the 2024-25 season in a bid to stave off the threat of the European Super League. 'The Times' says that some clubs will get another way to qualify for the tournament. 

Two clubs will qualify for the Champions League based on their UEFA coefficient irregardless of where they have finished in the league. For example, Real Madrid, who have a very good UEFA coefficient, could still play in the Champions League even if they finish outside the top four.
