Former Liverpool youth player Jordan Williams started the game for Rochdale, and was joined by Barnsley's player with the same name in the 79th minute as he replaced Dimitri Cavare.
The pair became a trio a minute later when Rochdale then took off Andy Cannon and winger Jordan Williams took to the pitch.

The trio of Jordan Williams' would have been funny for the Dale fans, had they not been brutally welcomed into life in the third tier, after a hat-trick from Kieffer Moore.
Moore is the Tykes' leading man at the top, and was able to steal the headlines, as he added three to Brad Pott's opener at the 35 minute mark.

Barnsley have had a dream start to the season, and they ended the night on 10 points, with three wins and a draw from their first four matches.
However, Rochdale now sit 18th following the home defeat.
Rochdale's manager Kieth Hill told fans that if they wanted to call for his sacking, they should ring the club chairman and talk to him.
Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester following the loss, he said: "Look, if you're going to beat us with a stick just phone the chairman up and say we don't want Keith Hill to be the manager."
"That will be OK. I've got no problem with that but try and support the players."
