Thomas Frank sparks Son exit rumours amid LAFC links

Rumours surrounding Heung-Min Son's departure from Tottenham are gathering momentum. Having been linked with Saudi Arabia in recent weeks, The Guardian now claims that Los Angeles FC, home to his former teammate Hugo Lloris, are keenly interested in signing the South Korean.
This comes just months after he secured his first trophy with Spurs, the Europa League, amidst an air of uncertainty with their new manager, Thomas Frank. The Englishman, who succeeded Ange Postecoglou, recently suggested in a press conference that Son could lose the captaincy - or even leave the club.
"Good question. I haven't decided anything yet. I have a long list of key issues to address, and I must manage them in the correct order," said the former Brentford boss when questioned about the Tottenham armband. Since Harry Kane's departure, the South Korean has been the undisputed captain of the team, and he wore the armband in the first friendly against Reading.
Regarding whether Son had earned the right to decide his future, he said: "It's always difficult; situations like this can arise. But right now, what I have is a player who is completely committed and training well. If a footballer spends so long at a club, it's for a reason, but decisions will also have to be made."
"The club will always have the final say. That's the first thing, and he is here right now. I'm not too worried. We'll give it five or six weeks. I know you'll ask me the same thing next week, so I'll have to practice my answers. For the moment, he's here," he added.
Currently, the British press places Heung-Min Son closer to Major League Soccer than the Saudi Pro League. Although he was linked at the beginning of the transfer window, he doesn't have anything concrete at the moment, while the interest from Los Angeles FC is real and tangible.
According to the aforementioned source, the Californians have been following the South Korean's situation at Tottenham for months, aware that he only has one year left on his contract and that a low-ball offer might be enough to take him if he wishes to leave London.
Los Angeles FC have been trying to sign a star from European football for their attack for some time. This summer, Olivier Giroud returned to France and there was a lot of talk about signing Antoine Griezmann, but the Frenchman shelved this option after renewing with Atletico Madrid until until 2027.
Now they have set their sights on Heung-Min Son, who would reunite with Hugo Lloris.
