Thiago could not hold back the tears after warm up injury

Chelsea and Liverpool faced off this Sunday at Wembley in the final of the Carabao Cup. Both Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel fielded their strongest starting elevens in the hope of lifting the first domestic trophy available this season.

However, something unexpected ocurred during the warm up and changed the Reds' plans. Thiago Alacantara was meant to start the game alongside Fabinho and Henderson, but this was not possible after the Spanish international sustained a sudden injury.

Once it had been confirmed that he was unable to play, the ex Bayern Munich and Barcelona player could not hold back the tears, as he was seen crying on camera. Alisson, who was Liverpool's second keeper to Kelleher on the day, tried to console the visibly distressed Thiago.
