The strange curse of 'El Clásico' at the Bernábeu

This statistic has been repeated for the last four seasons, and it’s effected Real Madrid just as much as it has Barcelona. 

The first time that this curse was born was back in the 2011-12 season when the Catalan side managed to beat los blancos 1-3. It was the last La Liga trophy Jose Mourinho would win with the Spanish giants.

The following season 2012-13, it was the other way around. Real Madrid managed to get the better of Barca 2-1, but it was ultimately Tito Villanova’s side that would lift the trophy. 

In 2013-14, it was a shock to the system when neither Madrid nor Barca managed to win the league, as Atletico snatched the title away from them both.

Tomorrow huge stakes are being played for, as the three points either won or lost could be vital in the title race.
