The common factor between Roma and Levante

Levante snatched Barcelona's unbeaten record in La Liga, coming out 5-4 winners in a nine-goal thriller on Sunday night.

The result brought back memories of 'Los Cules' humiliating defeat to Roma in the Champions League quarter-finals, in which they lost 4-4 on aggregate thanks to the away-goal rule. 

However, there is a surprising coincidence between the two defeats: Barcelona's turquoise kit. A worrying supersticious streak. 

The strip has been present in two of the three defeats Ernesto Valverde's side has experienced this campaign. Only against Espanyol in the Copa del Rey was the turquoise not on show.

In addition to the shirt, Barca's defensive frailties were exploited in both encounters, conceding eight goals in total - a far cry from the usually reliable Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and his defenders. 

With just one game remaining of the season, Valverde will want his players to bounce back against Real Sociedad on Sunday.
