The two players usually look nothing like one another, barring a couple of similarities in hairstyle and the shape of their nose, but in the moments prior to kick-off at the weekend the camera caught them from an angle which made them look like doppelgangers.
A side-on view left some onlookers bemused as to which was which as they prepared to decide who would get the game underway.
Whatsmore, the usual clues to help distinguish between the pair weren't applicable here, with both players captaining their sides and wearing the number three shirts.
Naturally, the image quickly went viral, with the good people of Twitter being quick to have their say on the matter...

In the end it was the real Chiellini who had the last laugh, with his side claiming a routine 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi.
The next meeting of the two Chiellinis is not set to take place until February, when plenty could be at stake for both sides as Frosinone look to stave off relegation and Juve look to continue their domestic dominance.
Curiously, Molinaro actually played alongside Chiellini at Juventus between 2007 and 2010, making 65 Serie A appearances for the 'Old Lady'. Indeed, Turin is a city the veteran full-back knows well, having also spent four years with Juve's city rivals Torino between 2014 and 2018.
