The Serie A will resume, and will predictably be finished on the playing field, but just in case, measures have been approved so that a new break doesn't put Italian football in jeopardy again.
The Federation has accepted that if the championship stops again because of the coronavirus, everything will be decided through a 'play off', for the title and the European spots, and to stay up.
However, this plan B has an expiry date. If such a shutdown occurs after 10th July, the Federation assumes that there would be no material time for it before the August deadline.
If this situation arises, plan C, the emergency plan, will be activated, by which the championship will be finished after applying an algorithm that decides the final table.
The Serie A intended that, if the championship could not be finished on the field, there would be no relegation, but their request has been rejected by the FIGC. Monza, Vincenza, and Reggina will be Serie B teams next season, while three from that championship will go down.
