Rose: 'Playing for England enjoyable again'

Rose was not a major part of England's run to the World Cup semi-finals as Ashley Young kept him out of the staring lineup at left-back for the majority of the competition.
Despite this, the England fans have got behind their team in a way that has not been seen since Euro '96 according to many, and the level of support has not gone unnoticed by the defender.
The Tottenham defender has had a difficult past couple of seasons, after he was part of the Euro 2016 team that lost embarrassingly in the last-16 of the tournament to Iceland.
After that result, the player admitted that he did not enjoy being in the England spotlight because of all the negativity from the fans. This combined with a period of injuries and friction between himself and his club over wages meant that the player has made just 28 Premier Leeague apperances in the last 2 seasons.
The former Leeds United player had lost his hunger to represent the 'Three Lions', but after the football fever that swept his native country during the World Cup he has refound his desire.
"I am not going to lie, it was not enjoyable considering whether we won or lost we'd still get battered and it has changed over a period of six weeks. I want to get back playing week-in, week-out and want to get playing for England again." he explained.
England were hugely diappointed to exit the tournament at the semi-final stage, losing to Croatia thanks to a goal from Mario Mandzuckic in extra-time, and the player shared how it felt after the final whistle had gone.
"That scene at the end was very emotional and I cannot believe I am looking forward to putting an English shirt on again because a few years ago, I did not see that happening."
His side will now play Belgium in the third place playoff on Saturday, with Rose possibly getting a chance to start just his second game of the tournament.
