Renato Sanches, Barca's plan B if they fail to get Saul

Barca are looking to reinforce the midfield. Atletico, on the other hand, are looking to improve their attack. Both parties have found a formula which would make both happy: a straight swap between Griezmann and Saul. 

Barca and Atletico Madrid have not been able to reach an agreement, that has made that swap deal become complicated. At Atletico Madrid, they are not thinking of going crazy and they believe the pressure is on the Catalans. 

Koeman is clear that he needs a new midfielder. If they cannot get Saul, 'AS' says the club will go for Lille's Renato Sanches.

Renato Sanches' agent is Jorge Mendes and he could help the midfielder join the Camp Nou. 

That said, Barca do not want it to be a standard transfer. The club are planning for it to be a loan deal with a compulsory purchase clause. That is the only way they can balance the books, something which is a headache for the Catalans. 

Koeman is looking for a strong midfielder, with experience, an attacking minded player and good at shooting. They were very close to signing Wijnaldum, who ended up at PSG and if Saul does not go to the Camp Nou, Sanches would be an option to have in mind.
