Ramon Planes to replace Abidal as Barca's sporting director

Ramon Planes is the new Barcelona sporting director. The club officially announced that he would occupy the position recently left by Eric Abidal. He left the club by mutual consent. They are the first two steps as part of the club's institutional restructuring.
Planes is not new to a club as he was Eric Abidal's assistant. He will take over with immediate effect and help when it comes to the club's summer transfer business. That is expected to be frenetic.
He was the sporting director of L'Hospitalet, Racing Santander, Alaves, Lleida, Espanyol, Elche, Rayo Vallecano and Getafe. He was the technical secretary at Spurs and Espanyol before becoming the Espanyol sporting director. He has a lot of experience.

You have to bear in hand that Ramon Planes has been at Barca a while. He arrived from Getafe in June 2018. He has been at Barca for two years and seen the problems the club has been through.
That could help him with his first job as sporting director: help with the transfer dealings. He knows well which players are set to leave, which are not for sale and Koeman's new project.
