It seems that all of Europe is waiting in the wings for a new manager, as the continent's biggest clubs get closer to bringing in a new face at the helm. Madrid are looking for Zinedine Zidane's replacement, with PSG's Mauricio Pochettino and ex-Inter manager Antonio Conte - who only recently left Inter - the possible candidates.
News from Italy appears to throw fuel on the fire of these rumours. Media sources such as 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' and 'Il Corriere dello Sport' are reporting that PSG are planning the departure of Pochettino, one of the candidates for the new Madrid position. That part of the story will please 'Los Blancos', but not the second part...
According to these sources, PSG have Antonio Conte on their list of favourtes to occupy Pochettino's spot - a manager who the Spanish side would want the most. 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' adds that PSG have already made their move, that the French club has reportedly been in touch with Conte already to let him know of their interest.
Thus, in Italy, they already see Pochettino far away from the Parc des Princes, and are betting on Conte as his successor. This would potentially open the door for Madrid to contact the Argentine. This is of course is only one version of the story, however - there are many other rumours floating around at the moment.
This whole mess with managers across Europe could be cleared up in no time at all. In any case, it remains to be seen which club will take control of the situation and announce first their appointment for the coming season.
