OFFICIAL: Greenwood joins Getafe on loan after his disagreement with Man Utd

Unexpected last-minute signing. Getafe announced in the final hours of the summer transfer window that Mason Greenwood will play in La Liga this season. According to several reports in England, the Red Devils will countenance not receiving a fee for his transfer.
Manchester United and Mason Greenwood agreed for the forward to leave Old Trafford after he faced allegations of abuse involving a young woman. The 21-year-old forward has been suspended by the Premier League giants since January 2022 over the allegations after images and videos were posted online.
Prosecutors said in February they were dropping charges, including attempted rape and sexual assault, against Greenwood, after key witnesses withdrew and new evidence came to light.
"I intend to be a better footballer, but most importantly a good father, a better person, and to use my talents in a positive way on and off the pitch," he said in response to the English side's statement with the resolution on his future.
As a result, the 21-year-old will try to make up for his mistakes and continue his professional football career in La Liga. He has not played since 22 January 2022 and will have to get his act together to play at the highest level in Spain. The English striker will formally return to Old Trafford in June 2024.
