Jean-Clair Todibo's time at FC Barcelona did not leave a good memory for either player or club. The Frenchman has given an interview to 'Amazon Prime France' and has spoken about his time at the Catalan side.
Todibo explained that he did not have the support of the club or the coach: "It was said that I was going to be Pique's replacement, but I never had a real chance. I only played five games and I did well, but they never said anything to me. Nobody wanted to talk to me at Barcelona, except Abidal".
On the other hand, the Frenchman said that he didn't have the tools for a team of that level: "I was the least prepared in the world and I arrived alone".
In spite of everything, the Nice centre-back said that his time at the 'Cules' helped him to get to know top-level football: "At Barcelona I learnt a lot in training and playing with great players".
This season, Todibo is making his breakthrough and together with his teammate Dante has created an inexpugnable defence in Ligue 1. The defender has made 32 appearances in which he has provided 3 assists. The Catalan giants still have 20% of a future sale of the player and everything suggests that, after this leap in level, the Frenchman will be involved soon in a great transfer.
