Sergio Reguilon had an evening to forget on Wednesday. The Tottenham defender gifted Aston Villa an equaliser with one of the worst clearances in his career.
Bergwijn gave Spurs the lead after eight minutes and Aston Villa were back on level terms just before the half hour. The full back was unable to clear the ball with his right leg.
Reguilon tried to clear a cross which came in from the left hand side and he miscued the clearance with the outside of his boot. That meant the ball went back towards his own goal.
That caught Lloris by surprise as he was not expecting his teammate to make that mistake. The Frenchman dived, but could not reach it.
Reguilon went down on his knees when he saw that the ball ended up going into the back of the net and he then put his hands on his head. Dier then came over to pull him up.
¡Madre mía, Reguilón! ¡Vaya autogol!

In the second goal, which saw Villa take the lead, he also made a mistake. Reguilon lost the ball twice near his own box and that lead to Aston Villa taking advantage to make it 1-2 through Watkins.
