Mourinho left the Bernabeu in 2013 and made an effort not to disrespect Solari as he took control. He continues to do the same by stating, "I am proud of that, but Real Madrid have a manager. Obviously it's a reason to be proud but nothing more than that."
The Portuguese manager was quick to praise his former club in light of their recent historic Champions League prowess, despite Tuesday's disappointing early exit.
