Messi calls for unity among Barca players: " I accept my mistakes"
After two months of criticising Barcelona, Leo Messi has finally changed his tone and closed ranks around his Azulgrana teammates.
The Argentian gave an interview to 'Sport' which was broadcast this Tuesday. In it, Leo adopts a much more reflective tone and calls for unity from the Barca family in search of success for the team.
"I accept my mistakes, which were only made to build a better and stronger FC Barcelona," Messi began, and then explained: "After so many disagreements, I would like to put an end to it. All the Barcelona players must unite and believe that the best is yet to come".
Although he previously publicly announced his desire to leave Barcelona, Leo broadcast a message of calm to all Barca fans.
"I wanted to send a message to all the fans and anyone who follows us. If at any time any of them may have been upset by something I said or did, let there be no doubt that I always did it thinking about the best interests of the club", he stated.
Finally, Messi asked for unity from everyone at Barcelona: "The only way we can achieve our goals is by combining passion with excitement, whilst always staying united and pulling in the same direction".
The Rosario native had been in the news for maintaining his hard stance against the Barca board over the exit of Luis Suarez, who Messi said wasn't let go in the right way.
