Mbappe doubt to start for Real Madrid in Copa del Rey final

Tension is in the air within the Real Madrid squad as only hours remain until the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona kicks off. Kylian Mbappe is a doubt to start at La Cartuja, with reports informing that the Frenchman has not fully recovered from an ankle injury.

The 26-year-old superstar had suffered the blow in the second leg of the Merengues' Champions League quarter-final defeat against Arsenal, consequently missing the wins over Athletic Bilbao and Getafe in La Liga.

Mbappe's chances to start appeared to have been boosted after he was included in Carlo Ancelotti's 22-man shortlist for the trip to Seville, alongside fellow compatriot Mendy. However, as the hours go by, his chances seem to be getting slimmer.

According to 'El Partidazo de COPE', a last-minute call will be made on whether Mbappe will start up front for his side. Should the Italian manager choose to deploy him, Rodrygo will be demoted to the bench.
