Paris Saint-Germain changed many players over the years. However, the one player who has always remained in the squad is none other than Marquinhos. The Brazilian established himself in the defence and even earned the captain's armband.
The defender's contract with the Parisian club expires in mid-2024, but the French champions are working to reach an agreement to extend his contract for several more seasons. Indeed, the centre-back himself has stated that he intends to remain at PSG.
Marquinhos spoke to reporters in the mixed zone after the 2-0 win over Nice and clarified his future: "I hope it will happen soon, I'm sure, we are in the final stages of extending my contract until 2027 and the details are still to be worked out.
The 28-year-old Brazil international looks set to remain with the Parisians for a long time to come, having just made 400 official appearances since joining the club in 2013 from Roma, who were paid €31 million for his transfer.
Unlike the situations of Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi, who will be free in the middle of the year, Marquinhos has a guaranteed place in the Parisian squad and will stay at PSG to continue making history in the French capital.
