Man Utd's Mason Greenwood posts farewell message to Getafe

Mason Greenwood, the Getafe striker on loan from Manchester United, posted a message on his social networks on Sunday that sounded like a definitive farewell to the club presided over by Angel Torres. "It has been a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best," he said in one part of his message.
In just five lines, the British attacker thanked Getafe for the opportunity it gave him last summer to return to the pitch after 18 months out of action due to a legal process for sexual assault, death threats and coercive and controlling behaviour that was finally closed after all charges were dropped.
"Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season, Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club. A bitter sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best," he wrote on his Instagram account.
Greenwood has been one of Getafe's best players this season. He has played in 36 official matches between La Liga and Copa del Rey, scoring ten goals and providing seven assists. Getafe's plan is to keep the Briton on loan for another year, but it seems that Manchester United want to sell him for between 40 and 50 million euros before his contract expires in June 2025.
Getafe president Angel Torres said before the game against Mallorca that he was sure Greenwood would stay at the club for another season "at 92%". However, Greenwood's farewell message could be the beginning of the end of his relationship with the club from the south of Madrid.
