Man United's Dorgu adopts new name following family request

The Manchester United full-back will now be referred to as Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu. It is understood that the change was made at the request of the player's family, as reported by 'Manchester Evening News'.
Born in Nigeria, Dorgu's parents have asked for his full name to be added due to the 20-year-old's heritage and religion. The same source informs that Chinazaekpere roughly translates to 'God answers prayers' in Igbo.
Man United have since fulfilled the family's wishes, including Dorgu's full name on their match sheets, website and official communications. They also reflected the change on their social media platforms.
"Christian Eriksen, Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu. Good showings from our Danish Reds on Sunday, despite their extra-time defeat to Portugal," the Red Devils posted on X - formerly known as Twitter.
The Dane international is the second player to have made name changes at the club in recent months after 17-year-old talent Chido Obi dropped the 'Martin' from his name.
