Man United Injury Update: Varane, Garnacho, and McTominay Return Dates

layer transfers, arrivals, departures, injuries, and coach replacements affect a team's performance during the season. And it seems like Manchester United got the worst of it with Varane, Garnacho, and McTominay’s injuries.
However, this isn’t a reason to give up hope just yet. In this article, we’ll be reviewing the three players’ injuries, recovery, and whether or not you can place that bet you’re looking at on the Interac betting sites. Let’s jump in!
As we previously stated, the three injured Man Utd players are Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay, and Alejandro Garnacho. Although one of them has already returned to the field, we’ll mention the remaining two and a few other players United has had on the bench these past few weeks.
If you’ve been following United closely, you’ll know Varane has missed several of the team’s matches after getting injured at half-time against Sevilla on April 13. Since then, Varane has spent much of his time resting his ankle and hoping for a quick recovery.
Although Ten Hag has said Varane will not be available for the coming game against the Wolves, it seems he still has hope for the player’s return. This would mark his potential return date as May 13.
Although there has been much debate, it all really depends on the severity of the injury. Even if Varane returns to the field, he’ll most likely have to be cautious as there is a risk of re-injuring his ankle within the first few months.
Although we don’t know much about Scott McTominay’s injury, we do know it caused him to miss the past seven matches with United.
This also means a potential return date is out of the question. However, we do hope it’ll be within a few weeks considering how many matches McTominay has missed.
Although he posted an image online and captioned it with a cryptic “Soon”, Ten Hag has said that his return is further off than Varane’s.
Although Garnacho has already returned to United after an ankle injury, it’s important to note that the 18-year-old will have to be careful on the field for the time being.
Garnacho returned the previous weekend (May 6th-7th) although he did not participate in the game against West Ham. United is hoping to have Garnacho in better shape by the time their match with the Wolves comes around.
Apart from Varane and McTominay, Man Utd are also waiting on Tom Heaton, Lisandro Martinez, and Donny van de Beek to return to the field. However, it seems as though their injuries were season-ending, and we won’t be seeing them until at least August 2023.
Tom Heaton’s ankle injury occurred during the team’s training for the Fulham game. Although he has assured fans he would be back at some point in April, he hasn’t been playing for United since.
Martinez’s foot injury was more serious and required surgery, after which he posted an update calling the surgery a success and claiming he would focus on the recovery. We expect Martinez to be back in the game by pre-season.
The same goes for Van de Beek, whose knee injury will keep him out of the field until pre-season. Van de Beek has shared that he’s focusing on his recovery and can’t wait to be back on the pitch with his teammates.
It seems like these injuries haven’t taken too well with the rest of the team. Currently, United stands at 4th out of 20 teams in the table, and their win rate is 56%.
Their last five match results aren’t a dream with 2 losses, one win, and 2 draws. Still, we’re hoping the May 13 game against the Wolves will lead them to redemption.
We’re unsure if Varane will be back in time for the Wolves game, and we know McTominay definitely won’t be. However, we know that United should have a backup plan in case not everything goes well. Knowing that, fans and sports bettors can rest a little easier knowing their victory is not such a far-fetched concept.
It’s also important to discuss the results of these injuries and their implications for your next sports bets. However, it seems like there isn’t much reason to worry.
Sports bettors should employ different strategies to increase their odds of winning. For example, doing a bit of research on the team and its injured players can make a world of difference.
The first question to ask yourself is how important the player is to the team. Looking up match history and statistics regarding a particular player can be a great help when deciding this.
However, you should also consider the entire roster, and this is what we mean by doing research on the team. Having an incredible roster of players who can fill in for the absence makes for a much better situation.
Of course, any sports bettor will tell you it’s important to evaluate the specific matchup you’re placing a bet for. Knowing each side is crucial when deciding which team to bet on, especially when a star player is injured.
