Mac Allister explains why he chose number 10 at Liverpool

The Reds announced on Thursday that Alexis Mac Allister has "successfully completed medical and agreed personal terms" and has become Liverpool's first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Argentina international will wear the number 10 shirt worn with distinction by past Liverpool stars Sadio Mane, John Barnes and Michael Owen.
The 24-year-old was asked why he chose that number in his first interview with his new club's press: "I know how important number 10 is in football.
"I had the possibility to take the number 8 as well, which is a big number for this club because of [Steven] Gerrard, of course. But I decided for number 10 because I used it a lot of time in Argentina, in Brighton, under-23 national team as well," he continued.
"So it's a number that I really like and that's why I chose it. I'm sure this team will give everything to win trophies and made them [fans] happy. That's the most important thing," he concluded.
