Luis Enrique's Xana Foundation honoured with Socrates Award 2025

Presented during the 2025 Ballon d'Or gala, the Socrates Award recognises individuals or organisations in football that demonstrate outstanding social and humanitarian commitment.
Previous recipients include Sadio Mane (2022) for his fight against poverty in Africa, Vinicius Jr (2023) for his stance against racism, and Jennifer Hermoso (2024) for her work combating sexism and sexual violence in football.
This year, the award goes to the Xana Foundation, which supports vulnerable children and adolescents facing serious illnesses, honouring the memory of Luis Enrique's youngest daughter, who tragically passed away from osteosarcoma in August 2019.
Princess Charlene of Monaco presented the award, with Luis Enrique's eldest daughter, Sira Martinez, accepting it on stage. "We created this foundation in her name, and we are sure she is proud of us for seeing how we help families in such difficult situations," she said.
In addition to this humanitarian recognition, Luis Enrique also received the Johan Cruyff Trophy for the world's best male coach of the 2024/25 season, following an extraordinary campaign with PSG that included triumphs in the Champions League, Ligue 1, French Super Cup and Coupe de France.
