“It is not exaggerated to think about winning the treble"

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta said Tuesday that “it is no exaggeration to think” that the team coached by Hansi Flick could win the three titles at stake - La Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey -, although he stressed that it is a “difficult” goal to achieve.
The midfielder, who won the treble with the Catalan club in the 2008-09 and 2014-15 seasons, praised the good moment the first team is going through at the presentation of his book 'The mind also plays' (Espasa), held in the auditorium of the emblematic Barcelona building of La Pedrera.
"It's not exaggerated to think about winning the treble, but it's difficult to achieve it because it's rarely been done. The players are capable of doing it," said the scorer of the goal that made Spain world champions in South Africa 2010.
In this sense, he assured that he is “optimistic” with a view to the final stretch of the season “because of the sensations that the team transmits”. "Now everything will be decided in four games. Hopefully we can win the titles that are at stake," he added.
Iniesta, who after hanging up his boots in October 2024 is training to become a coach, pointed out that he is "a long way away" from coaching the club of his "life", although he admitted that he would love to return to Barca.
