Laporta promised Xavi signings: "We're working on the January window"

Barca face Real Madrid this Sunday. This 'El Clasico' will be for an up-and-down Barcelona side: one who has known success in La Liga and another story in the Champions League. 

Joan Laporta spoke about the team's situation, who will find it difficult to get through to the round of 16 of the Champions League. As well as criticising the European refereeing, the Barca man gave some good news to the fans.

He has all faith in Xavi and went on to say that, with respect to the January window, he will be able to make signings if he needs to reinforce for the next half of the season. "The project continues. We're working on the January transfer window. We constantly want to improve the first team, which is already very strong, but there is room for improvement", he said to 'Barca TV'.

"Last year was a warm-up, and if we get good results, it will help a lot. Once the club is saved and the finances are back in shape, we will move on to working on the sporting side of things. This team is getting used to each other and there are other things we need to tweak to improve", he detailed. 

Therefore, the summer signings were only a drop in the ocean of what Joan Laporta and the board want to do. Xavi can relax, if Laporta keeps his word, he will have more options available to him in January.
