The German player Toni Kroos finishes his contract with Madrid on 30 June 2024 and, while the club's offices and he himself decide whether to continue their paths together, the figures from the first half of the season show that the German midfielder is earning an extension to his contract with the club.
The renewal, if it happens and given what happened last season, will not be made official until the end of the current season. Both parties have a great understanding after 9 and a half years together and the economic part and duration of the extension - one season - will not be a problem.
Kroos makes his contract extensions conditional on feeling competitive at the highest level. The German does not want to be a 'burden' within the squad for Ancelotti, recently renewed until 30 June 2026, who shows with his decisions regarding the starting line-ups that he counts a lot on him, while at the same time he does not publicly put pressure on him to stay at the club.
"I see it as a good thing. What he is going to do next year will be respected by everyone. There are players here who choose what they want to do; the legends, like Kroos. They have earned the possibility to choose what he is going to do in the future," the Italian coach commented at a press conference on 11 December.
