Juventus monitor Barcelona as Balde emerges as January option
Following an underwhelming start to the season, Juventus are already making moves behind the scenes with an eye on the January transfer window. The objective in Turin is to provide Luciano Spalletti with reinforcements to steer the team back on track.
According to reports from Italian outlet 'Tuttosport', the Italian side have cast their eyes towards FC Barcelona, assessing the feasibility of bringing Alex Balde to Turin.
The Italian giants are weighing up a deal structured around a loan with an option to buy. Barca value the defender at around €50 million, a valuation currently considered well outside the Bianconeri's financial reach.
Against this backdrop, a six-month loan deal emerges as a win-win solution for both parties, affording the player regular playing time without compromising his market value.
Balde, who flirted with an exit during the summer transfer window, has tumbled down the pecking order under Hansi Flick. The youngster is currently considered the third-choice left-back behind Cancelo and Espart, and would look very favourably upon a January switch in a bid to rediscover a prominent role.
