Brazil goalkeeping coach Taffarel has refused to rule out the possibility of Julio Cesar returning to the national team.
The Benfica custodian has 87 caps for his country and was a favourite of current coach Dunga during his first spell in charge of the Selecao between 2006 and 2010.
The 36-year-old made a high-profile error in Brazil’s World Cup quarter-final defeat to Netherlands in South Africa five years ago but his fine form in Portugal has seen him tipped to return from an 18-month absence.
Dunga is thought to be seeking a replacement for Jefferson, who was dropped from the side for last month’s victory over Venezuela.
"Yes [Julio Cesar could return]. Why not?” asked Taffarel when discussing Julio Cesar's possible return.
