Teddy Sheringham could be set to return to the pitch as a player for Stevenage Borough.
The Daily Mirror report that the 49-year-old manager of the Boro has registered, along with 41-year-old assistant Kevin Watson, for Wednesday's Herts Senior Challenge Cup match against Welwyn Garden City.
Sheringham has not played a competitive match since hanging up his boots in 2008 after a short spell with Colchester United, moving into coaching with West Ham before being appointed at Broadhall Way in June.
