Injuries that sent shivers down our spine

Fractures, cuts, breaks... Football is one of the most injury-prone competitive sports. With the advent of televisions, the horror generated by some of them lives on in the memory of fans.
Ewald Lienen's cut (1981)
In 1981, Ewald Lienen was injured against Werder Bremen. The cut was so deep that the bone in his right thigh could be seen perfectly. The player even got out on his own foot.
David Busst's broken leg (1996)
His injury was so serious that rival goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel ran out in panic at the sight of his leg. Multiple crashes with the worst possible consequences. The Coventry man suffered a fracture. Schmeichel needed some help to process it.
Larsson's tibia and fibula fracture (1999)
The legendary Henrik Larsson, while at Celtic, broke his left tibia and fibula in a race with an opponent fighting for a ball. Chilling. Even so, he continued to play at the highest level years later.
Ronaldo Nazario's knee injury (2000)
Ronaldo Nazario reappeared and a few seconds later the world of football was silenced when he broke his right knee, a joint that has given him more than one headache in his career. His tears were shared with all football fans.
Manuel Pablo's tibia and fibula fracture (2001)
Manuel Pablo and Giovanella fought for a ball in a Galician derby that ended with the Deportivo side with a broken leg. The best full-back of the moment played many more years, but not at that level.
Petr Cech's skull fracture (2006)
A clash with Hunt of Reading even made Cech's life very sary. Months later he returned with a protective helmet and he never took it off, becoming famous for it.
Eduardo Silva's Tibia and Fibula Fracture (2008)
One of the wildest tackles in recent times and one that almost cost the then Arsenal player his leg. Martin Taylor of Birmingham City injured him with a beastly tackle.
Wound in the skull of Rafinha (2017)
Rafinha collided with his teammate Ter Stegen and got a serious cut on his head that caused everyone nightmares. He was able to play later with a mask.
Head trauma of Fernando Torres (2017)
Torres got the scare of his life when he ran into Bergantiños, fell unconscious and scared the people present. Some of his companions were crying. He came back to the pitches 20 days later.
Cut and detachment of the lip by Álex Bergantiños (2019)
In the first leg of the final of the promotion play-off, Pedraza and Bergantiños went for a ball and the latter got off badly. He had to receive 70 stitches after clashing into him with his face and bleeding everywhere.
