"I tried to shoot, so I have to thank him" - Yamal on impressive assist to Raphinha

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal said the goal he scored on Tuesday in the last 16 of the Champions League against Benfica (3-1) is ‘’on a par‘’ with the one he scored for Spain against France last summer in the European Championship semi-final.
"This goal is on a par with the one I scored in the European Championship. I always try that shot and today it worked,’ said the striker in statements to “Movistar+” when asked if Tuesday's goal, a cross-shot from outside the box and placed into the top corner to make it 2-1, was the best he has scored in his career.
After securing qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Lamine Yamal stressed that Barça will try to "win as much as possible" and this season they have already "shown" that they can compete. "We hope to go very far," he said.
"What I like are the second legs. Playing a Champions League tie at home is an experience that I've really enjoyed," said the Catalan striker in the mixed zone at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona.
Lamine Yamal also admitted that in the first goal of the night, scored by Brazilian Raphael Dias ‘Raphinha’, his intention was to shoot at goal: "In the first goal I tried to shoot, I took the pass and he put it in. I have to thank him. I'm very proud of what he's doing this season. I hope he continues like this".
Finally, the young striker affirmed that he doesn't set himself any limits: "I just want to enjoy myself. I try not to think about my ceiling, but to have a good time, something that is happening a lot because my teammates make it very easy for me. I'm very happy".
