Barca struggled to win against Real Sociedad at home. They only managed to do so thanks to Messi scoring a penalty. Because of this, the fans whistled, but Jordi Alba did not agree with this: he celebrated his disallowed goal angrily and by making gestures to the crowd.
The player covered his ears and threw his arm up in the air after scoring the disallowed goal. He later explained that he did not like the fact the fans showed their discontent from so early on.
"The team's attitude is good, the players gave it their all. No player likes it when we do not play well, but I don't like being whistled in the 15th minute. Just like I respect everyone, they have to respect me. And I don't like us being whistled," he explained.
He also defended Eder Sarabia after the controversy: "It seems like Sarabia has killed somebody... It semms like the coaching staff can't express themselves how they want nowadays. He watches the games with lots of passion, he did not disrespect anyone. If I were him, I may have done the same or even worse; we are not annoyed."
