As he is expected to get little game time to Liverpool's very strong attack, Xherdan Shaqiri is one of the main candidates to leave Anfield this summer.
The Swiss international is aware of that and that is why he is carefully weighing up his options before making a decision. However, it seems like the former Stoke City man has one in mind.
The footballer told 'Corriere dello Sport' that he wants to return to the Italian league and try his luck in a team like Lazio, a club interested in his services.
"I told the Liverpool board that I felt ready for a new challenge. They have accepted my decision and they are now listening to offers for me. I'd love to return to Italy. I'd like to play for Lazio," he said.
The 29 year-old footballer was in Serie A for the 2014-15 season as he was on loan there from Inter Milan.
