If there is one thing that Paulo Futre is passionate about, it is his Atletico Madrid. The 'Colchoneros' legend went on the programme 'El Chiringuito' to talk about and discuss everything that happened in the derby against Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the Portuguese also revealed some of his 'routines' when he was a footballer: "The doctor tells me not to smoke. I haven't smoked for a long time, but I still have the craving. It bothers me if someone smokes nearby.
"I smoked from the age of 12. When I played, I smoked. Not with the children at home, but it was a different time. At half-time I didn't smoke. If the match was on Sunday, I smoked 12 on Tuesday, 10 on Wednesday, 8 on Thursday, 6 on Friday, 4 on Saturday and one after lunch on Sunday. After the match, all of them. When I arrived I stopped smoking for four or five days. It wasn't the same because I was missing something. Then I started again four or five days later, in pre-season and it was better. But the kids at home told me to quit," he continued.
Finally, Futre got serious and admitted that he is on medication after his cardiovascular accident: "I take seven pills in the morning and four at night every day. Casillas had a heart attack and he still takes them. You can never fail. If you are anxious, you have to take other pills on the side. But I'm strong.
