Brazilian striker Vitor Roque, who was signed from Barcelona, began working on his recovery on Friday after seeing several physiotherapists to treat the serious ankle injury he suffered in the match against Internacional.
His current club Athletico Paranaense announced that the 18-year-old will not have to undergo surgery. His recovery time is estimated at eight weeks but will depend on his progress. Vitor Roque will join the Catalan giants in January 2024.
Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez was asked about his future player's injury at a press conference but was calm about it. "We’re in contact with club and player. Doctor Pruna is in contact continuously and we are waiting to find out how he is doing," he told reporters.
He received a hard tackle from Nico Hernandez that left him on the ground, screaming in pain. After the tackle, Vitor Roque was left lying on the ground in tears. However, everything looks set to end well for both sides.
