Football behind closed doors means microphones pick up plenty of comments from the players and the rest of those on the touchline and the stands. Despite LaLiga's attempts to turn off the mics, the programme 'Què t'hi jugues', of 'Cadena SER', revealed an audio involving Gerard Pique and Recio.
It all took place when the referee Martinez Munuera gave a penalty against Jonathan Silva after a foul on Messi. The man from Malaga, upset with the decision, was one of those who protested the most to the referee.
The Catalan central defender, who was in the vicinity, was not happy with the protests and told him openly. "Give this man a microphone. Go up there and commentate," he told him as could be heard in the audio.
Despite the fact the VAR checked the incident, Martinez Munuera stuck with his decision and Leo Messi scored the penalty which gave Barcelona a two goal cushion.
