Gavi set to miss Valencia clash as knee pain persists

Barcelona face the prospect of travelling to Mestalla without Gavi, according to reports from RAC1. The midfielder has been working daily at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper during the international break, but continues to experience pain in his knee.

A slight discomfort led him to withdraw from training sessions last week, necessitating a rest period while his condition was closely observed. 

Head coach Hansi Flick previously stated: "The plan is that he can be available for Valencia. We will see how he evolves. Today he is better than yesterday. We are positive."

However, the latest indications suggest the 20-year-old is unlikely to recover in time for the clash against Valencia on 14 September. The club is determined not to take unnecessary risks, given the long-term importance of his recovery and his role within the squad.
