Gavi misses Gundogan's first Barca training session

Gavi missed Barcelona's first pre-season training session on Tuesday due to gastroenteritis. The Spanish midfielder was unable to return to work. Meanwhile, the internationals returned to training with the Catalan side after their holidays.

Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez was able to count on Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, Jules Kounde, Chadi Riad, Frenkie de Jong, Ilkay Gundogan, Franck Kessie, Ousmane Dembele, Abde Ezzalzouli, Ansu Fati and Robert Lewandowski.

Gundogan, who recently joined from Manchester City, held his first training session with the La Liga outfit. The German showed his potential alongside his new teammates on Tuesday and did so again on Wednesday morning.

So could Oriol Romeu, who was announced as a new Barcelona player on Wednesday. The 31-year-old has signed until 2026 and has already trained with his new teammates ahead of the tour of the United States.
