FRANTIC first half at Wembley: Sterling's opener disallowed, Colwill's goal line clearance...

The first half of the EFL Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool at Wembley is living up to expectations. Both teams went in at half-time unable to break the deadlock but both the Blues and Reds created dangerous chances to score the opening goal. 

Pochettino's side looked to have struck first when Sterling finished off a great move by the home side, but it was disallowed by the referee for offside by Jackson, who had assisted the former Manchester City man. After a VAR review, the image was replayed showing the former Villarreal man slightly ahead of Konate. 

Minutes later, Gakpo almost put Jurgen Klopp's side ahead when he headed a cross from Robertson's left flank. However, the woodwork prevented the Anfield side from breaking the deadlock. 

Just a couple of moves later, it was Colwill who prevented Liverpool from scoring the opener with a crucial goal-line save from Bradley's close-range finish, who had been fed by Luid Diaz inside the box.
