First time Lewandowski fails to score on opening matchday in 8 years

Xavi's Barça kicked off the season against Rayo Vallecano. Despite the fact that the match, in principle, could have been considered a easy one, it wasn't. In fact, it ended in a draw (0-0).

Lewandowski was on target in the match, but the goal was not scored. When the play started, the Pole was caught offside. He was left wanting to score on the first La Liga matchday, something he is an expert at.

The last time Lewandowski failed to score in a league opener was in August 2014, in his first season with Munich. In that game, he didn't score against Wolfsburg and, since then, all of his opening-day opponents have conceded one goal at least... until he signed for Barcelona.

The Spanish club signed a top player this summer, that's clear, but he's also a human being. It's time to think about the next game against Real Sociedad because there is no doubt that the goals will arrive.
