England v Italy - Preview and possible lineups

England:
Liverpool's Joe Gomez has had to withdraw from the squad after picking up an ankle injury against the Netherlands on Friday while Leicester's Harry Maguire faces a late fitness test.
Jack Butland has already been told that he will start, replacing Jordan Pickford who kept a clean sheet against the Dutch.
Italy:
Expect a host of changes from the side who lost 2-0 to Argentina on Friday, with Gianluigi Donnarumma set to line up between the sticks in place of Gianluigi Buffon while Antonio Candreva is pushing for a starting position ahead of Federico Chiesa.
England head coach Gareth Southgate:
"What we've got to do is allow this young team to perform. There's some super-exciting young players. The reason there has been a disconnect with the team is not because of what they've done. It's because of what teams I played in did and historic stuff".
"We've got to give them the freedom to grow and improve and learn together. They don't have 50, 100 caps [each]. There's still years ahead of them as a group and they can get better and better."
Italy midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini:
"I believe in the work that this team is doing. One that is full of strong players. We now have some time to focus and prepare ourselves for next year, all getting back on track together. It’s not something that will happen overnight, although I am convinced that hard work always pays off".
"We must all start again together, without creating problems that don’t exist. All of us must improve for ourselves, for Italy and out of pride for the National Team. We’re a bit tired of always seeing the others do a little more.”
Did you know?
The Italians have beaten England more often at Wembley (twice) than England have beaten them overall (once).
