Elliott explains emotional reasons for leaving Liverpool

The 22-year-old completed a loan move to Aston Villa, who are set to pay £35 million for a permanent transfer next summer, dependent on appearances.
Elliott reflected on his journey at Anfield, recalling the pride he felt when joining the club in 2019. "It was a dream come true for me and my family," he said. "As a young child, I travelled the world supporting Liverpool, and words will never be able to explain the feeling I had when I first pulled on that famous red shirt as a player."
He expressed gratitude to everyone at the club, from the board to his coaches and teammates, for their support throughout his time at Liverpool. Elliott added that forming lifelong friendships during his stint at the club had been a privilege he would always cherish.
Looking ahead, the midfielder explained that his move is motivated by ambition and the desire for regular football. "It's now time for a new challenge," he said.
"I feel it's important at this stage of my career to be in an environment where I can play and progress as much as possible. Thank you all for everything."
