Ronald Koeman already knows what it's like to see Ousmane Dembélé turn up late. This Friday, the forward turned up 15 minutes later than he should have at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, where FC Barcelona were training.
The Dutch manager has imposed a rule of arriving one hour before training starts. In this case, the deadline was 10:00, while 'Deportes Cuatro' filmed the Frenchman arriving at 10:15.
Dembélé arrived at the training facilities in his vehicle and with his phone in hand. The same thing happened two weeks ago, after the first game of the season against Villarreal.
Such instances of lack of discipline and organization have plagued Dembélé since he arrived at Barca. He had the biggest issues With Ernesto Valverde and the club wasn't sure how to steer him in the right direction.
Due to nine months of injury, Dembélé only coincided with Quique Setién for a few weeks. He put himself under Koeman's command in the hope that he would once again contribute to the team. He played his first minutes against Villarreal since November 27, when he was injured in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.
Dembélé was injured again in May when he had already recovered from his right thigh issues. On that occasion, it was an arm injury, which left him out for the rest of the season. This led to the signing of Martin Braithwaite.
Barca will play this Thursday against Celta Vigo at Balaídos and then on Sunday against Sevilla at Camp Nou. A double commitment in a week where Ronald Koeman has not scheduled any day off for the squad.
