The Danish league could resume on 29th May, according to the Danish Football Association (DBU) through a statement. However, it will be behind closed doors.

The Danish Football Association (DBU) announced on Friday through a statement, that they hope to resume the competition on 29th May, as long as the Danish government authorise it.

The director of the clubs' association, Claus Thomsen, commented on this: "We've always said it's crucial to finish the current season, but only if it can be done in a reasoned way that doesn't jeopardise the health care system".

The Danish league was stopped in the middle of March, with Midtjylland top on 64 points, 12 points ahead of 2nd placed Copenhagen. Just a few days ago the possibility of the Danish league's return was spoken about for the middle of May.

The DBU also announced that safety measures will have to be adhered to in order for matches to be played again, which will be behind closed doors: "All players, coaches, and supervisory staff will be evaluated before the first day of the match and continuously during the rest of the season".
