Could there be another comeback?

The first legs both finished with damaging defeats for the home teams, but after Roma set fire to the rule book and threw it out the window against Barcelona on Tuesday, both these teams will go in with a new-found belief. It was only Manchester City who lost both legs against Liverpool.
Only once before
Madrid winning 3-0 in Juventus' own stadium reduces the possibility of an historic comeback. You have to go back to the 09/10 season, and the Europa League, to find the last time a team came back from such a defeat.
In this case it was Dinamo Bucharest who lost 3-0 at home to Slovan Liberec. The tied up, winning 3-0 in the second leg and eventually went through on penalties. But this result comes with an asterisk next to it.
Bucharest lost the first leg because of a sanction imposed by UEFA. It was a harsh punishment laid down because of the behaviour of their fans, which led to the game being suspended.
Hope for Sevilla
How many times has a side overcome a 2-1 first leg defeat in Europe? 26: six in the Champions League, 16 in the Europa league and four in the Intertoto Cup. The most notable of these results include a 4-1 win for Lens over Kaiserslauten after losing in the first leg or a 6-0 victory for Esbjerg against Flora Talinn.
In the Champions League, Sevilla will look at the six who have gone before them. Steaua Bucharest were able to overcome Dinamo Zagreb and Dinamo Kiev overcame Trabzonspor in two of the more well-known encounters.
However, having lost the first leg at home against one of Europe's real heavyweights, the odds are stacked against them.
