CONFIRMED: Javier Mascherano signs three-year contract at Barcelona

The defensive midfielder joined from Liverpool six years ago and it looked like his time with the La Liga champions may have been coming to an end, with Juventus rumoured to be interested in the Argentine.
However, Barcelona have confirmed that Mascherano has signed a contract to keep him at the Camp Nou for the next three years.
The club's sporting director, Albert Soler said: "We have come to an agreement to improve his contract. He will continue for three more seasons wearing our shirt".
Barcelona's technical secretary Robert Fernandez also claimed that both parties were very happy that Mascherano is staying at the club.
"He is a very important player for us. We are very happy and he [Mascherano] is as well," he said.
