TEAM NEWS:
Chelsea: Although Lampard only went with a three-man defence against Wolves on Saturday, a game in which they won 5-2 and so will have a lot of confidence, the coach may decide against switching strategies for this Champions League game. Antonio Rudiger will miss out with a groin injury, leaving Kurt Zouma to return to the side alongside Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori. With N'Golo Kante still trying to shake off an ankle sprain, the midfield four should remain the same. Christian Pulisic could potentially come back into the starting lineup in place of Willian. Lampard has decided to trust in his youth this season.
Valencia: Valencia come into this game slightly startled after their 5-2 defeat against Barcelona. Celades and his players are under pressure to get a result on the board at Stamford Bridge. Celades may also decide against making major changes to his Valencia team. Geoffrey Kondogbia is in line to be handed a recall in midfield, with Kevin Gameiro likely to be the player to miss out.
MANAGER'S THOUGHTS:
Frank Lampard: When speaking about his young players, especially Tammy Abraham, Lampard says: "I believe in him and trust him" I felt the time was right for Tammy to have the opportunity at this club anyway because of the quality he has got
On the Champions League and what it would mean to him: He says he will be proud to do it and that it is the ultimate in club football for him. "I want to experience it on this side of the fence." and his target is to qualify from the group.
On opponents Valencia: "We are going up against a team that have fantastic quality" and says that no matter what is going on off the pitch, his approach will be the same. "I expect they are a team that are very organised and hard to break down. It is a team that can be very dangerous on the counter-attack".
Albert Celades: On his bad start to managing Valencia: "I’m completely calm. Whenever a coach changes it is a process of adaptation for everyone. There is a need to gel. but it is a fantastic challenge".
On his team and how they will go into the game: He says that he doesn’t want to reveal the plan for tomorrow and that they haven't had much time to train and prepar.
On opponents Chelsea: "They are a great side with some fantastic individual players. It will be a big challenge but a fascinating one too. We’re sure they can cause us a lot of problems."
